I believe that heaven is real
I believe that heaven is real in fact it is more real than the reality that I know. I believe that logic is inescapable and that there is a succession of dimensions. A picture on a page is a two dimensional image of a real three-dimensional reality. A 3-D reality allows access to so much more than can be attained through a 2-D image. Our reality is in fact 4D since we have length breadth ,height and time. As a 3-D reality contains everything and more that is contained in a 2-D reality so too a 5-D reality will contain everything in our existence. Logically, therefore, a 5D existence must include all of time and therefore perception of time will be rather different from what we now have. (more below)

It has been shown by philosophy and spirituality that there is another dimension to come and now mathematics and science are also saying the same thing. In fact some mathematicians think in terms of several new dimensions of existence.
Human existence before birth is vastly different from existence after birth but this does not mean that pre-birth there is no information gathering while still in the womb. This is living not jean transportation. eg music learned while still in the womb.
Passage through the birth canal brings it into a whole new realm of dimensional existence that we could not possibly have imagined before. This is a huge change rather like passing from 2-D to 3-D. A paradigm change.
I believe that death is passage through the cosmic birth canal taking us from the 4-D that we know to the 5-D that we do not know. Be aware that you cannot lose a dimension by reverting to a lower level e.g. 3-D to 2-D. the only insights gained into this realm have come from the resurrection appearances of Jesus. Be also aware that moving up a dimension must involve difficulty and pain.
So what will it be like after death? Nobody knows but we do have some pointers which allow some cogitation. Here are some qualities of the afterlife; not an exhaustive list but there is too much evidence not to take them seriously. For the qualities listed below I lean heavily on people like Thomas Aquinas ,the Saints ,and philosophers such as CS Lewis, Peter Kreeft to name a few.
4 qualities of afterlife
number one subtlety
i.e. the ability to pass through material things
number two agility
i.e. the ability to move from place to place just by thinking it
number three impossibility
i.e. freedom from all suffering including total control of your person, body and soul
number four clarity
i.e. the light and life of the glorified soul.
Tripping the light fantastic? Not really, this article is in no way a denial of logic. Logic requires that there must be at least one more dimension and that this dimension must contain all that is in the previous dimensions, including time itself. Therefore passage through the cosmic birth canal i.e. death, must lead us into a whole new paradigm shift where time is a whole new concept.
Through all this I firmly believe that for me, this me is the final reality which will persevere until I reach the final destination, the final dimension that is God himself. As such, perhaps I should logically admit that all life is in some form an extension of God himself. Hence “Thou shalt not kill”. Not sentient life anyway.
Returning to the 4 qualities mentioned by Aquinas, subtlety was demonstrated by Jesus on several occasions. Likewise agility was observed prior to his death. We can also remember instances of some eastern mystics and Padre Pio seemingly were able to bilocate.
Since death frees us from our 3-D body we will certainly be free from suffering in a physical sense up to the point of final glorious resurrection ,when we will still have freedom from suffering.
All of this mind blowing stuff fills me with excitement at the prospect of heaven and yes it does leave us with some unanswered questions. Here are some thoughts for you to ponder.
I may have a drawing a 2-D image which I have made and if I don’t like it I can always destroy it and make a new one, which is better. God is the ultimate and creator of all dimensions and therefore by this same logic he is free to utterly destroy and recreate our world. Thus His promise of the new heaven and a new earth is a reality that we can look forward to.
I believe that the really real me at my very very deepest level shares in the immortality of God himself and as such I cannot be destroyed. Therefore my ultimate end must be either with God in paradise or finally separated from God, which would be an unimaginable hell in which I could still perceive the delights of paradise, but be unable to share in it.
Since my soul is immortal, i.e. indestructible, logic demands some feasible explanation for the time between death and my entry into heaven. Life results in the real me being tarnished by sin and failure so clearly we are not ready to encounter the perfection of God himself. Now the state of being not ready implies a need for time in some form to “become ready” since the mercy and justice of God requires this.
But what does time mean now we are in a higher dimension which includes all of time from the big bang to the end. ?? ??Time does not cease to exist but it will be perceived very differently in a higher dimension. Perhaps time is just now but what the heck is now??
This is all way beyond the realm of our best philosophers and theologians.
All I can say is what I believe and this has been a sure support for me during many years of suffering. I believe that passage through the painful cosmic birth canal will lead to joy with my late wife, Ann, and our twin boys Peter and Paul. There will be great joy and experiences we could not now imagine.
However logic and justice require that there should be varying degrees or levels within these dimensions, hence the concept of God’s mercy, which is the Lord’s free exit from purification. However it does require total submission to the love of God, and this is not particularly easy. This is the pain that we are not free from wether a believer or not. God forgive me for being the great sinner that I am.
A thought new to me as I write this article Jesus had to go through the painful cosmic birth canal twice. First at the Annunciation and second at the Ascension, which is why I regard these feasts as the most important in the church calendar.
