Hawkstone Hall – One time retreat centre
This beautiful site, now used for various functions, was once used for extended retreats. A man who operated there was Fr Dennis McBride, the editor of the Redemptorist Press ( a large christian publisher ). I never got to go there but I did attend a conference where Fr. Dennis was the speaker. I picked up a series of 36 lectures on the historical Christ and the gospels. These are well worth listening to and I am now puttng the first of these on this blog.
