Everybody is pleased when somebody says a heartfelt thank you (even if they don’t want to admit it. ) How much more are we pleased when somebody says “I love you” from the heart?
How long is it since someone said to you I love you and more important how long is it since you have actually voiced those same words “I love you” ? Sadly, and particularly among men, it can be quite hard to say those words which mean so much to someone else.
Returning to that important word image we are reminded that as part of God’s creation we are actually made in the image and likeness of God. Therefore any good qualities in us like love compassion joy et cetera must also be present in God, because the reality (in a much higher dimension) contains all and more that can be found in the image.
It is therefore a very good thing to say thank you and I love you to the Lord who gave his son as a ransom for your eternal immortal spiritual life. A life which promises to be the most exciting and fulfilling existence that you could imagine and more.
