A 1D romance – no chance

Here begins a journey into your imagination and you will need a good one for this trip. You will not be able to do this but please try.

We begin with Arthur. Here he is. He is quite small in fact he is a big as a dot. (How big is a dot). He is in fact a 1D man (One dimensional – you know, length, width, height etc) Can you see him in the corner.

how rude of me. I forgot his name.

This is where the imagination part gets quite difficult. Arthur being 1D can only move in one direction. His senses are also limited to that one line. In fact that line is his entire universe and it is not possible for him to be aware of anything not on that line. For the sake of this story we will allow him to move up and down the line in other words he is really a 2D man.. Arthur trundles up and  down the line  happily and has no reason to be unhappy since he is not aware of anything else.

A Fish swims happily in the sea, unaware of the joy of flying. Then a Guillemot dives and spears it with its beak and the fish wonders where the heck did that come from? 

Back to 1D Arthur – get the picture, happy but dismal.

I wonder what that is in the corner. Arthur can not see it but I can ‘cos I am more than 1D

So here we have a 1D lady who like Arthur can only move in One Direction and can only sense in One Direction. Equally happy but dismal. Totally unaware of each other.

Now we will have some fun. At one fleeting moment in time. “Wow where did she come from – what a smasher ! Was she an angel ???”

No she was not an angel and Arthur is not likely to see her again. Aaahh sob sob.

This is part one of my story which will eventually take you into some very deep spiritual insights. So stay with it please. You may even like to write a short story based on the events in this post or you may even like to share some actual events in your life.
